Ramiro Rivas Flores

Ramiro Rivas Flores was blessed with 89 years of life. He was born on May 13, 1936, in San Miguel de Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Cosme and Libradita Flores. On December 6, 2025, Ramiro was called to his eternal home in heaven at his residence, with his beloved granddaughter and family by his side. In his early years in Mexico, Ramiro worked diligently on his family ranches, cultivating the land to grow various crops. Following the tradition of generations before him, he dreamed of owning his own ranch and business-a dream he proudly fulfilled. He established his own ranch, where he raised horses, calves, and goats. Skilled as a meat cutter by trade, Ramiro’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to found R&R Meat Market and Grocery in 1976, expanding to multiple locations. He also developed his own leasing building, La Placita, leaving a lasting legacy in his community. Ramiro’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was blessed to witness his daughters graduate from college, each earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees and advancing in their careers. He also proudly celebrated his only granddaughter’s academic achievements, as she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. A devoted and family-oriented man, Ramiro shared a loving and unbreakable bond with his daughters, son-in-law, and granddaughter. Ramiro is survived by his daughters: Rosario Flores, Rosanelia Flores, and Janie Valdez (Raul Valdez); his granddaughter, Laura Valdez; and his sisters, Maria Elena Salinas and Nina Rosario. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He is proceeded in death by his wife Josefina Flores and his daughter Yesenia Flores. A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 09:00 PM at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission, TX, located at 2200 N Conway Ave. A rosary will be recited on the same evening at 07:00 PM at the funeral home. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025. at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission, Texas. Followed by a burial at Jose City Cemetery in Mission, Texas at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services are under the care of Virgil Wilson Mortuary.
