Pedro Escalante

Mission – Pedro Escalante left to be with our Lord on Friday, June 06, 2025 at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas. Mr. Escalante was born to Ascencion and Justa Escalante on August 01, 1927 in Mission. Texas Mr. Escalante is preceded in death by his wife Paula G. Escalante and his son Pedro Escalante Jr.; his parents, eight sisters Micaela, Rosalinda, Carmen, Francisca, Herminia, Tomasita, Maria Julia, Margarita and one brother, Alberto. Mr. Escalante is survived by his son Eduardo Escalante, two daughters Maria Elma Cavazos and Elizabeth Escalante Maza. He is survived by Rogelio Gomez Sr. (Olga) whom he also considered a brother rather than his brother in law; also survived by Arturo Garces whom he also considered a brother rather than his nephew. Surviving him are also his grandchildren: Francisco Javier Cavazos (Marisol), Jacob Escalante (Joanna), Mark Anthony Maza, Giovanna E. Vela (Jaime), Anell E. Pike (Andrew), Rebecca Lee Maza, and Michelle Denise Escalante; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Brandon, AJ, Carter, Mason, Emily and Emma. Mr. Escalante is also survived by Nancy Kay Gomez Turchi, Rogelio Gomez, Jr., Ruben Gomez and Joanna Gomez who considered him a grandfather rather than an uncle. He is also survived by so many nephews and nieces whom he dearly loved. The family would like to thank Father Roy Snipes of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Dr. Charity Abreu-Lawrence and Staff, Dr. Francis N. Dimtri, Dr. Vela, Dr. Calderon, ICU, 2nd and 4th floor staff of Mission Regional Medical Center for the exceptional, professional and tender care given to our most precious father and grandfather. Honorary Pallbearer: Francisco Javier Cavazos Pallbearer: Jacob Escalante, Mark Anthony Maza, Rogelio Gomez Jr., Ruben Gomez, Jacob A. Garza and Fernando Lopez Family and friends will gather for a visitation Sunday June 15, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission, Texas. A funeral mass will take place on Monday June 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in Mission, Texas. Followed by a burial at Laurel Hill in Mission, Texas at 11:00am. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission, Texas.
