Noe Flores

LOS EBANOS - Noe Flores, 85, from Los Ebanos, Texas, entered eternal rest on Sept. 18, 2016 at Mission Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 19, 1931 to Maria G. and Horacio Flores. He was preceded in death by his spouse of 43 years, Maria Elena Flores in 2003. In addition, he was preceded in death by four of his siblings Manuel Flores, Cleotilde F. Garza, Beronica Flores, and Flora Flores all from Los Ebanos, Texas. He is survived by two siblings, Beatriz Jimenez and Isaura Jimenez of Houston, Texas. He leaves behind two daughters, Veronica Mendoza (Leonel Mendoza) and Velma Eliza Flores from Edinburg, Texas as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews. Those who knew Noe Flores would say that he was a humble and hardworking man who was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever the need was. He loved to crack jokes and had plenty of humor, but he could also tell it to you like it was. He instilled in his daughters the value of hard work and the need to get educated because he was of the belief that no one could take your education away from you. One of his favorite things to do was to go the Bingo Hall and play bingo where many knew him as “El Borrado” because of the color of his eyes which were sometimes green or blue depending on what color he was wearing. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Services will be as follows visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at The Lord and I Funeral Home in Peñitas. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Los Ebanos. Interment will follow at Los Ebanos Cemetery in Los Ebanos. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Javier Saenz in Penitas, Texas, Dr. Rodrigo Lema and Associates of McAllen, Texas and all other doctors, nurses, and staff at Mission Regional Medical Center for making their loved one’s last days as comfortable as possible. Last but not least, to his caregivers of many years, Osbelia and Almeada Flores, the family will forever be indebted to them for the great care that was provided to their loved one as he got older and needed the extra assistance in his daily living.
