Della Irene Chipman Davis

Della Irene Chipman Davis is truly a woman to be honored. She will always be remembered for the legacy she built in the people of the Rio Grande Valley, throughout the United States and Mexico. She left her post as a loving church mother and woman of God on Sunday January 10th, 2016 to enter her eternal home. Della Irene Chipman Davis known to her friends as “Irene” was born October 26, 1928 in Leeton, Missouri to the late William Thomas Chipman and Della May Parks Chipman. Above all she loved her Savior and served Him with all of her heart. Her happiest days were shared with her husband Charles Davis. She was raised to be a woman of integrity, structure, and endurance. She was family oriented and cherished those relationships. These strong foundations led her to serve over 60 years in the ministry. She pioneered missions in Mexico that focused on education for children, built several churches, and served as a missionary thru out Mexico. She instructed at two bible school in Mexico and taught Sunday school. In her later years she taught at Kings Way Missionary Institute where she trained missionaries in Spanish and prepared them for the mission field. Irene Davis was beloved by her students and was always known for speaking the will of God and the truth in every situation. As an evangelist, she always brought a powerful word from God and His Presence wherever she went. Before she went home she wrote a blog on sparkpeople.com where she continued to encourage people to live their best and most healthy life every day. Irene is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Davis, her parents William Thomas & Della May Chipman, and all but one of her siblings. She is survived by her beloved brother Thomas Parks Chipman, Step-Son Chuck and Janet Davis, Richard Davis, Step-Daughter Shirley Davis, Niece Tina Damron and a host of Extended Family. She will also be deeply missed by close friends, church family and countless people impacted by her life. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Celebration of life service will be held on January 14, 2016 at 10:30 am at Center Church located at 4801 N Cage Blvd, Pharr Texas. Burial will follow to Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
