Raciel Mancias Sr.

August 24, 1932 - March 12, 2021

La Joya-Raciel A. Mancias, Sr. 88, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 in McAllen, Texas. He returned to join our Lord and those he loved who also have passed away. He was born on August 24, 1932 to Gregorio and Leonarda Mancias. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his eldest son, Raciel A. Mancias, Jr. Those left to honor his legacy and his memory are his sons and daughters as well as his loving wife of 65 years, Martha A. Mancias. He is survived by Raquel Mancias Taylor (Hank) , Jose Roel Mancias, Dr. Pedro Mancias (Beatriz), Elvira Mancias Zapata (Ricardo) He is also survived by 8 wonderful grandchildren: Shirley Taylor, Jamaar Taylor, Earvin Taylor, Brandi Taylor, Sandra Zapata, Pedro Mancias, Jr., Mariana Mancias, Paul Mancias and 2 great grandchildren, Brandon Jai Taylor and Braylon Jai Taylor. He is also survived by one brother and one sister; Gonzalo Mancias (Francisca), Elvira Mancias Reyna (Victor) and numerous nieces and nephews. He lived in California for a few years but mostly spent his life on his ancestral property in the small community of Havana, Texas. He loved his family and his beloved Havana (Porcion 46) He was a mechanic for many years and worked for Golden Jersey Creamery in Edinburg, Texas. Pallbearers will include: Henry Taylor, Jamaar Taylor, Earvin Taylor, Victor O’Cana, Dr. Pedro Mancias and the Honorable Judge Fernando Mancias. The family is forever grateful to his physician, Dr. Luis Arango for the continued care and compassion he showed our father and our family. Visitation: Wednesday, March 17, 2021 – 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at L & I Funeral Home in Peñitas, Texas. Mass will be on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 10:00 am at the L & I Funeral Home in Peñitas with the burial to follow at Havana Cemetery at 11:00 am.
