Maria Ignacia Torres Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

McAllen - Maria Ignacia Torres entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in Mission. Mrs. Torres preceded in death by her dear husband Enemencio Torres, her daughter Josefina Torres, her parents; Tomas Martinez and Maria Davalos Martinez, her siblings; Odilia Martinez, Irene Martinez, and Lucinda Castillo. Mrs. Torres is survived by her loving children; Juanita (+Homero) Lopez, Ramon (Alicia) Torres, Rosa E. (Jose) Torres, Enemencio (Luz) Torres Jr., Rebecca (Steve) Stubbs and Eduardo Torres. She will be greatly missed by her adoring brother; Tomas Martinez and, her loving grandchildren; Eric Lopez, Laura Singleterry, Gabriela Mora, Estevan Torres, Carlos Torres, Clarissa Torres, R.C. Torres, Jessica Cannon, Angela Jara, Sara Walden, Natalie Stubbs, Brandon Torres, Melanie Torres, Mario Torres, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous family and friends. Mrs. Torres was a founding member of Saint Joseph the Worker Church and served her parish community for a number of years, participating as a Eucharistic minister, doing hospital ministry, and engaging in a number of church activities and clubs. In her later years, she enjoyed participating in numerous field trips and activities with her friends at the Senior Citizen’s Center. Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Friday, April 22nd, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission, Texas. Funeral Mass will take place at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen, Texas on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, Texas. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID, visitors are asked to wear a facemask/covering. Arrangements are under the direction of Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission, Texas.
