Juan Luis Rangel

October 23, 1952 - January 2, 2021

Mission- Juan Luis Rangel, born to Miguel Rangel and Luisa Reyna Rangel on October 23, 1952 in Mission, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2021 at his residence in Mission. He worked as an educator and counselor for the La Joya Independent School District for 30 years. In his retirement, he liked playing bingo and watching good movies .He is preceded in death by his only daughter, Sonia Rangel Singleton; siblings: Gerardo Rangel, Miguel Angel Rangel, Angela Rangel and Juan Rangel, as well as his parents. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Juanita G. Rangel, his granddaughter, Marissa Singleton, son in law, Bryan Singleton. Also surviving him are siblings: Rodolfo Rangel (Beatriz), Maria de la Luz Salazar (Francisco), and Socorro Ortega (Lorenzo). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm with a 6:00pm rosary at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission. Graveside service will be at 9:00am on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID 19, visitors are asked to please practice the safe and social distancing guidelines and wear a mask/ face covering. Funeral Services are under the direction of Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission.
