Joel Velez

Mission – Joel Velez, born on December 15, 1968 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Alberto Velez and Carmen Guardado, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in Mission, Texas. Mr. Velez was preceded in death by his adoring wife: Olivia Velez. Surviving him are his loving son: Jesus Manuel Velez, and beloved siblings: Maria Velez Gonzalez, Reyna Hernandez, Rosendo Velez, Raul Velez, Juan Velez, and Alejandra Zavala. Joel had a passion for auto mechanics and a great love for music; he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Friends and family will gather for a visitation on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Virgil Wilson Event Center in Mission, Texas. A chapel service will take place on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. also at the Virgil Wilson Event Center. Interment will follow at Lord and I Cemetery in Palmview, Texas. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID, visitors are asked to wear a facemask/covering. Arrangements are under the direction of Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission, Texas.
