Ida Mae Keller

MISSION – Ida Mae Keller, 90, of McCook, Texas passed from this life into the presence of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 08, 2018. Ida Mae Keller was born February 02, 1928, in Flatonia, Texas to Theodore and Lillie Machac, the second of five children. In 1944, Ida Mae graduated from Edinburg High School, and worked for a short time as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. She married the love of her life, Dominick “Domin” E. Keller, April 9, 1947 and enjoyed 50 years of marriage before his death in 1997. Together they worked as a team to raise their five children. Ida Mae was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church in McCook for many years, where she served on the church board and Altar Society. She was a long-time member of the K.J.T. and K.J.Z.T. Societies. Ida Mae was a devoted wife and mother who was the “glue” of her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was dearly loved, and will be sorely missed. Ida Mae is preceded in death by her parents Lillie and Theodore Machac, her loving husband of 50 years, Dominick “Domin” E. Keller, and two brothers Richard and Frank Machac. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Daniel (Jane) Keller of Mission, Texas, George (Kathleen) Keller of Elm Mott, Texas, Margaret Smith of Waco, Texas, Joyce (Caesar) Macias of Austin, Texas, Cheryl (Tracy) Keys of McCook. She will also be greatly missed by her sisters, Evelyn Kotara and Rosie Lee Hommel, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Pallbearers will be; Frankie Machac Jr., William Keller, Paul Neugebauer, Paul Keller, Mike Kotzur and Kenneth Hommel. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the staff at The Gardens at Brooke Ridge in Pharr, Texas. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church in McCook, or the charity of choice. The family is truly appreciative of the outpouring support received from loved ones and friends. Family will be receiving friends and family on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Virgil Wilson Memorial Chapel in Mission, TX. Mass of christian burial will be on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church in McCook, TX. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, TX.
