Sullivan City – Francisco Garcia, 73, born on February 18, 1947, from Sullivan City died peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at McAllen Medical Center. Francisco is a graduate of La Joya High School. He worked in construction most of his life and called himself a "ceiling man." He loved to be outside working in his garden, talking to a stranger or a friend, and telling stories about his kids. He believed in hard work, the strength of family, and the power of God. He will be deeply missed and always loved. May he rest in peace. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Faustina Garcia, brothers Roberto and Manuel Ricardo Garcia, and sisters Delia Garcia, Oralia Flores, and Lupita Flores. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Noemi Garcia, five children: Rebecca Garcia, Francisco (Angie) Garcia, Armando (Teena) Garcia, Jesus (Araly) Garcia, and Dalhia (Chris) Garcia Montgomery, 11 grandchildren, his brother Manuel (Carmen) Garcia, his sister Consuelo (Simon) Garza, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Chapel Service at 4:00 pm and a 6:00 pm rosary at the Lord and I Funeral Home in Peñitas, Texas. Cremation followed at a later date. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID-19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
