Sullivan City – Estruberto Vela, 84, went to be with the LORD on Saturday February 6, 2021 at his residence in Sullivan City, Texas. He was born on March 28, 1936 in San Miguel de Camargo Diaz Ordaz Tamaulipas, Mexico to Maria Flores and Odon Vela. He is preceded in death by his parents Maria and Odon Vela and his siblings: Estela Ibarra, Armando Vela, Roel Vela, Ismael Vela and Homero Vela. He is survived by his loving children: Alicia (Arturo) Silva, Maria Dolores (Mario) Alanis, Ana (Arnoldo) Elizondo, Estruberto (Maria) Vela Jr, and Celia (Luis) Vela. He will be greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and his siblings: Idolinda Martinez, Guadalupe Vazquez, Elva Martinez and Elda Caballero. Visitation was scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm with a 6:00pm rosary recited at the Lord and I Funeral Home in Sullivan City, Texas. Funeral Service was officiated at 10:00am on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Lord and I Memorial Chapel in Sullivan City, Texas. Interment followed at Benavides Cemetery in Sullivan City, Texas. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID-19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
