Tabita "Vita" Garcia Flores

In Loving Memory of Tabita "Vita" Garcia Flores Today, we gather our hearts to mourn and celebrate the life of Tabita Garcia Flores, who passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the warmth of her loving family. At 77 years old, Tabita was a devoted daughter, a cherished sister, a deeply loved wife, and a fiercely proud mother and grandmother. Born on September 21, 1948, to Feliciano and Prajedes Garcia of Mission, Texas, Tabita grew up in a vibrant, traditional, Christian home. She shared her life’s journey alongside her siblings: Orfa Ortiz† (Inocencio†), Jesusita Hernandez (Samuel†), Ester Ozuna (Arturo†), Hilda Garcia, Moises Garcia (Evangelina), Criselda Garcia, and Feliciano Garcia Jr. (Cynthia). On April 8, 1968, Tabita wed the love of her life, Armando Flores. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love and devotion that spanned 58 wonderful years. From their beautiful union they welcomed three children who were her absolute pride and joy. Tabita's legacy of love lives on through her devoted husband, Armando, and her three children: her daughters, Beatris Howard (James) of Jones Creek, Texas, and Linda Y. Palacios (Jorge L.) of Mission, Texas; and her only son, Armando Flores Jr., also of Mission, Texas. She was profoundly blessed to be a grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren: Samantha Renee, Stephanie Lynn, Junior Hernandez, Jorge Luis Jr., and Jocelyn Renae Palacios. Her heart expanded even further as she was beyond blessed to welcome 14 amazing great-grandchildren into her embrace.Tabita was reunited in eternity with her beloved parents, Feliciano and Prajedes Garcia; her older sister, Orfa Ortiz; and her brothers-in-law, Inocencio Ortiz, Luis Arturo Ozuna, and Samuel Hernandez. While our hearts are deeply saddened by this immense loss, we find comfort in remembering the beautiful, vibrant, and strong-willed woman she was. Our hearts go out to everyone who had the privilege of calling her a family member or a friend. We take solace in knowing that she is now at perfect peace—healed in ways we could have never imagined, wholly and completely. She is resting eternally in the loving arms of her savior, Jesus Christ.
