DAVID ANDREW "ANDY" GUAJARDO PALMVIEW/MISSION - David Andrew "Andy" Guajardo fought a good fight against leukemia. On October 6, 2011, we gained a great new SAINT in Heaven. 22-year old Andy was born on June 26, 1989, in McAllen, Texas, to Pete and Paula Guajardo. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eugenio Garza, his paternal grandparents Pedro and Esther Guajardo, his uncle Ramon Garza, and his favorite aunt Alicia Garza. Andy is a 2007 La Joya High School graduate where he excelled in academics, drama and UIL. He attended UTPA and South Texas College before being diagnosed with cancer in June of 2009. Andy's dream was to be an actor, and he was an avid animal lover. Andy had a way of talking to people that touched their hearts and made them want to be near him because they enjoyed their time with him. Everyone who knew him, knew that time spent with him was a chance to create lasting memories. He is survived by his parents Pete & Paula, his brother Petie, his sister Eugina Rae "Ginny", his maternal grandmother Guadalupe Garza, his aunts & uncles: Eugenio Jr.(Rosario) Elvia(Ramiro), Elma, Robert(Hilda), Irma, Debbie, Ana, Socorro (Ismael), Hermina, Lydia(Roberto), Esmeralda(Manuel), Velma(Ricardo) his cousins: Ramon Jr., Eugenio III (Amanda), Ramiro(Maribel), Veronica, Cindy, Amanda(Ryan), Leslie, Nikki, Eduardo, Cory, Mikayla, Matthew, Mindy, Sergio, Angela, Buck, Joshua, Jaydan, Jacob, Laura, Lisa, Bert, Lori, AC, Rene, Roy, Marco, Myra, Bobby, Elaine, Jerry, JD, Ricardo, and Kaylee. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011, from 12-9 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm at L&I Funeral Home Memorial Chapel at 1005 West Expressway 83 Penitas, Texas (956)519-2649. Visitation will continue on Sunday, October 9, 2011, from 12-6 pm at L&I Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. A special rosary will be held at 7 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 620 North Dunlap Avenue Mission, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Roy Snipes, O.M.I. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 10 am Monday October 10, 2011. Burial services will be held at Benavides Cemetery in Sullivan City, Texas. Andy's faith got him and his family through the past two 1/2 years. Andy never complained or asked why me. His unwavering fight to win this battle and his faith stole the hearts of many. He will forever be remembered for inspiring others.
