Adolfo Cantu Jr.

San Antonio- Adolfo Cantú, Jr., beloved son and brother passed away on October 3, 2021 in San Antonio, Tx. He was born on August 20, 1996 in McAllen, Texas to Adolfo Cantú Ontiveros and Linda Michelle Gutierrez. In addition to his parents, he is remembered by his half brother siblings: Leo Juan Cantú, Eduardo Emmanuel Cantú and his sister Katrina Michelle Cantú; grandparents: Carmen Vanenzuela, Felix Cantú Tijerina, Rev. Leticia Gutierrez and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Pedro Gutierrez and his cousin, Carlos Alonso Gutierrez. Adolfo “Michael” Cantu attended Midkiff Elementary at Mission Independent School District. He also attended South Middle School and Edinburg High School at Edinburg School District. He transferred to Clark High School and graduated with his High School Diploma, regardless of his share of challenges, from Clark High School at Northside Independent School District. He studied ROTC (Reserve Officer’s Training Camp) and Music but, mostly video games with raging guns. Adolfo “Michael” Cantu was water baptized and first attended Resurrected Life Church of McAllen, TX, where the word of God was hammered into his heart by Pastor Pedro Suarez. In Laredo Texas, he attended Christ Worship Center with Pastor Sam Lopez. In San Antonio, he faithfully attended Cornerstone Church with Pastor John Hagee. He attended church camp twice a year for at least 18 years. He also earned Frequent Flier points at Total Commitment in Ministries Church, Mission, TX with Uncle/Pastor Pedro Armando Gutierrez. “Michael” preferred worship music and was known for dancing “like David danced”. He learned all his first dance moves at his Pentecostal church. “Michael” was a very dedicated employee of Santikos Entertainment Palladium Theatre, for five years. He made long lasting friendships as and Entertainment Guest Specialist. He loved theatre and knew each movie entertainer and which movie they were cast in. “Michael” is known as a very honest, loving and good Christian person. His greatest desire was that his family would love one another regardless of any misunderstandings. He could never be convinced of trying “a little” or “just one” of anything worldly. If it did not bring edification, he would simply say “no thanks”. “Michael” was a fighter. During his stay at Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills, he was very determined to fight the good fight. He was relentless, every step of the way. It was so hard, and he kept fighting. He would do anything for his mother. He did win the fight, because to live is Christ and to die is gain, Phil 1:21. He has earned his crown of righteousness! Devil, you can never steal our joy, devil, you can never penetrate the armor of God. “Michael” will forever be loved and forever be missed.— L. Michelle Gutierrez” A Life Celebration will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm with The Word of God from 7:30pm - 8:30pm at Total Commitment in Ministries Church, 11435 Bryan Rd., Mission, Texas. Funeral Services will commence at 10:30am on Friday, October 8, 2021 also at the church. Burial will follow at Lord and I Cemetery in Palmview. The family is in the care of Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission.
