Peñitas, Texas ~ Amanda B. Garcia was born on July 18, 1987 and entered eternal rest on Monday, October 9, 2023 at the age of 36 years. Amanda was born to Jose Armando Garcia and Maria Andrea Flores in McAllen, Texas. She is now reunited with her adoring mother; Maria Andrea Garcia. She is survived by her loving father; Jose Armando Garcia Sr., her siblings; Jose Armando (Fabiola) Garcia Jr., Anita (Roman) Garcia and Flodia Garcia. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews; Jose Armando Garcia III, Antonio Garcia, Andres Garcia, Alma Azaneth Garcia, Adelyn Alise Garcia, Roman Garcia Jr. and Roan Ethan Garcia. As well as by numerous friends and family. The Seamstress and the Jeweler By: Adelyn Garcia Though the seamstress’s quilt was complete, and she no longer spun her threads, the memories still run and the lives she created have grown up. Her pin pricks can be seen in her little ones as they’ve gone on to build lives of their own. And now she has received her youngest by her side: The Jeweler. The Jeweler also spun, as she wove her beads along the silk threads, each one carrying a piece of her from the moments she shared with us, her beads dangled from her threads to her hands to our necks and to our wrists, she gave us these pieces to remember her by as she wove herself into our hearts. Though these beads may come undone and roll into the crevices of our minds, they hold the stories of what she has made and how she lives on. Many would say her life was shortened, but the way she lived life was as if she carried a collar of diamonds and pearls, for this jeweler had the biggest heart and the strongest soul. With each accessory she wove in hand, she passed her love onto us all with everlasting memories. These jewels that once were used for beauty have become something much more as the jeweler may now share these beads of memories with her mother, the Seamstress, who has awaited her with open arms. They meet again, one wrapped in her quilt and the other wearing her necklace, looking over the lives they touched, sharing these memories, knowing their love lives on with us. Friends and family will gather for a visitation on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm at The Lord and I Funeral Home in Peñitas, Texas. Followed by a funeral mass on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 1:00pm at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in La Joya, Texas. Interment will follow at 2:00pm at Lord and I Cemetery in Peñitas, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of The Lord and I Funeral Home – Peñitas, Texas.
